Herbert Unger
Base Leader – CMAS 2 * Instructor

Herbert has been the dive base manager at Laguna since the resorts inception 1990 having previously worked for 10 years in other resorts in the Maldives. With over 25 years of diving experience and having logged over 10,000 dives in the warm Indian Ocean waters, Herbert is a veritable expert in the Maldivian underwater world.

Favourite aspect of job: Diving is never boring; even if I have been hundreds of times to
the same place

Favourite dive site: Embudu Canyon because of the stunning corals and masses of fish

Petra Veit (Unger)
PADI Open Scuba Instructor

Having visited the Maldives on holiday and fallen in love with the beauty of the country 20 years ago, Petra followed her passion for diving and gained her Instructor qualification. Since then she has logged over 6000 dives and continues to help our guests to discover the beautiful dive sites of the area

Yusuf Moosa
PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor

A Maldivian National, Yusuf, started his diving career over 30 years ago when tourism in the Maldives first began. With his experience of over 14,000 logged dives and extensive knowledge of the local area and diving conditions, Yusuf is a great asset to our dive team

Abdul Hameed
PADI Divemaster

Hameed started working with our dive team as technical support for the dive base. As his fervour for diving increased over the years, he concentrated on developing his skills under water and gained his Divemaster qualification a few years ago.
